The Web site for the business accelerator program, 1492, is now live. Entrepreneurs with an idea for a new business can submit their application online via a simple fill-in form covering business startup basics. Based on this submission, judges will select 10 finalists to make formal pitches before the 1492 judging committee. Five of these ideas will be chosen to receive business coaching services and funding (up to $20,000 per startup) to help launch their idea into a business.
MobileXpeditions), a finalist in the inaugural 1492 competition, has gone on to raise additional capital and secure first customers for its location-based experience app, MX. MX provides media-rich tours, multi-media presentations, interactive games and more apps for engaging visitors with destinations. Entrepreneurs wanting to see their ideas come to life, just like MX, should submit their brief today.
1492 is a collaboration among TechColumbus, Columbus State Community College and the Columbus College of Art & Design.
Deadline for applications is October 12, 2011 at 5 p.m.
