Education

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related concentration.

Experience

A minimum of 5 years of professional experience is required. Experiences in energy, purchasing and/or finance is desired. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Must have strong analytical skills, the ability to grasp new concepts and be detail oriented. Must be comfortable managing multiple tasks at one time and have strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Description

This position provides our clients' premier energy management services (primarily natural gas and electricity consulting services) to clients through direct account management or in a supporting role. This position is responsible for developing the strategic energy plan and delivering superior customer service and innovative solutions to complex energy situations while actively seeking opportunities to expand our customer relationships. In addition, this role is expected to perform these responsibilities efficiently and consistently pursue process enhancements to improve overall profitability. Essential functions include:

Relationship management

- Act as the liaison between the customer and our functional groups

- Develop customer relationships at the facility level and develop facility specific energy supply strategies

- Closely manage scope of services

- Develop and present service updates and relationship reviews (written and verbal) for customers

- Participate in new customer/prospect activities including RFP responses and prospect meetings

- Proactively monitor all activities and issues related to the customer

- Monitor regulatory initiatives and educate customers on their potential impact

- Actively seek opportunities to expand scope of services to increase fees

- Successfully renew accounts through contract extensions

Energy procurement

- Proactively initiate competitive bid situations for new supply contracts based on market opportunities

- Develop regional supply expertise (utility tariffs, balancing restrictions, regional constraints, etc.)

- Develop and maintain supplier relationships including supporting Delta's internal scoring system

 Supply management

- Execute nomination and scheduling activities to move supply when applicable

- Actively balance supply within the applicable tolerances to minimize penalty situations

- Maximize value of customer assets including the identification and execution of arbitrage opportunities

Risk management

- Develop and provide sophisticated and customized energy price risk management strategies

- Monitor market dynamics on a regional basis to identify customer risks and opportunities Custom reporting and analysis

- Generate customized reports on a routine basis to meet specific customer demands

- Development of tariff rate models to analyze alternative supply options and determine optimal structure

Professional development

- Mentor and develop other team members Special projects

- Wide variety of management and customer driven projects

Supervision: Manage up to 2 junior staff members
