The Ohio Third Frontier Program has been instrumental in helping me navigate the process of taking a patented medical device (EpiGlare Tester) and moving it forward towards commercialization. My product measures the disabling effects of headlight glare and sunlight in patients with cataracts. By more accurately evaluating these patients, our goal is to reduce vision-impaired traffic accidents and improve public safety.
The Ohio Third Frontier Program, in conjunction with TechColumbus, has introduced us to companies and individuals who have been invaluable in doing the necessary work required before a medical device is approved for use. Without such assistance, the EpiGlare Tester could have been a good idea that may have never seen the light of day.
I whole heartedly ask the people of Ohio to pass Issue 1 and continue funding the Ohio innovations of tomorrow.
