An Advocate for the Job Seeker

February 3, 2010

Janice Worthington, of Worthington Career Services, entered the field of executive recruiting in 1973. She is a certified résumé professional and job search coach who is focused on the needs of the candidate. Much like an ad agency, she and her business partner Jeremy Worthington work in the background preparing the candidate with the right résumé, tools, technology, interview savvy and coaching on compensation negotiation to help them get hired.

“We fine-tooth comb everything,” said Janice. “We are total advocates of the job seekers and we see ourselves as coaching a family of clients; we know that if clients also receive human support, they are better able to focus on professionally delivering their peak performance.”

Innovative Programming
Innovative programming is at the core of Janice’s business philosophy. For example, in addition to private sessions, Janice and those she coaches meet together for one full day each month to learn, share and prepare. With a call from Janice, many professionals she has coached and placed over the years participate by lending their support to the candidates.

Janice also holds boot camps and triathlons which are events for senior executives to offer advice, encouragement and one-on-one assistance to job seekers.

CareerTrack
So it is a natural move for both Janice and Jeremy to lend their expertise to the new TechColumbus CareerTrack program that prepares job seekers and works to connect them to potential employers.
“There is no question that the CareerTrack launch will be filled with talented people that require leadership and guidance in career search. We look forward to providing that leadership,” said Janice.
Janice and Jeremy Worthington assisted job seekers at the CareerTrack Kick-off party that was held on Jan. 28th, 2010.
