AltaSim Technologies receives DoD Phase I SBIR to develop domain specific portals for analysis of electrical circuits

February 9, 2010

Columbus, Ohio – February 12, 2010 – The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has contracted AltaSim Technologies to develop advanced computational simulation and analysis tools to allow designers to develop electrical circuits with advanced performance characteristics for critical DoD applications.

Previous work supported by DARPA and performed by AltaSim Technologies identified that application of advanced computational modeling and simulation tools could have a significant impact on the development of products for mission critical DoD applications. According to Jeff Crompton, Principal, AltaSim Technologies, “We have shown that the modeling and simulation approaches we have developed can reduce development costs by up to 90% and development time by as much as 50%.”

The fundamental technology embedded in the computational tools is applicable to a wide range of applications. Extension of the platform technology embedded in the design tool will increase access to these predictive tools for Tier 1-3 DoD suppliers. “By targeting these companies we are aiming to have a impact on the small and medium sized businesses that are vital to the continued development and implementation of technology for the DoD ”, says Jeff Crompton, Principal, AltaSim Technologies.

Long recognized as a leader in the development and application of innovative engineering technology in a wide range of industries, AltaSim Technologies leverages its core competency in advanced computational and multiphysics analysis to help its customers develop new products, processes and technology.
