Summary: This position will work closely with internal application development teams, infrastructure support, and database administrators to support the OPERS application infrastructure on a 24/7 basis. Primary responsibilities will include application installation, upgrades, and developer support of third-party and OPERS custom designed applications. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Perform software installations, upgrades, and administration of custom and third-party client/server and web based applications running on distributed operating systems (Windows, Solaris, Linux, etc). Perform .NET and Java application deployments for third-party and custom designed applications. Monitor application health. Work closely with infrastructure support and application development teams to tune underlying application and operating system performance. Where appropriate, design, build, and maintain load and performance stress testing scripts for supported applications. Work closely with disaster recovery team to design appropriate backup and recovery procedures for all supported applications. Performing operational duties related to job and program execution monitoring, configuration management, and job scripting. Work closely with IT Security team to maintain application security. Responsible for supporting programmers’ effort for software development and customization. Develop solid knowledge of business requirements and ensure that technology and support meets those requirements. Maintain a customer service-oriented work approach towards internal and external customers.
