The non-profit Nationwide Children’s Hospital was recently recognized by the Web Marketing Association for “Outstanding Achievement in Web Development”. The site, www.nationwidechildrens.org, was redesigned and relaunched in early 2010 to better incorporate new social media initiatives, provide a seamless connection to numerous applications including electronic medical records, and to improve user experiences on the website. The website was created as a joint effort of the hospital’s communications and technology teams in collaboration with AWH and Conrad Phillips Vutech, a Columbus-based interactive agency. The website is built upon the AWH GeoDocs CMS platform with customizations built by AWH software developers for the specific needs of Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Winners were announced last week by the Hartford, Connecticut-based WMA, which named the best web sites in 96 industries. Entries from more than 2,000 sites in 45 countries were judged on design, copy writing, innovation, content, interactivity, navigation, and use of technology.
