BioOhio Launches New Scholarship Program to Support Students in Pursuing Biosciences Education

BioOhio announced this week the launch of a new scholarship program designed to promote bioscience career pursuits among Ohio college students.  The BioOhio Annual Scholarship program will offer four $1,250 scholarships to high school seniors planning to pursue biosciences degrees from Ohio colleges and universities.  The BioOhio Scholarship Fund was initially established at $15,000 in October 2009.  Plans call for sustaining and increasing the fund through private, tax-deductible donations.

“Our hope is that through individual and corporate donations, we can increase both the number of awards and the dollar amount per award in coming years says Matt Schutte, director of communications for BioOiho.

Deadline for applying for the first round of scholarships is March 19.  Those interested can apply online
