Brand Thunder Launches BT:Engage D-I-Y Browser Theme Creation Tool

July 28, 2011

Central Ohio IT startup, Brand Thunder, reached another milestone this week with the launch of BT:Engage, a Do-It-Yourself tool for creating customized themed browsers in Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Internet Explorer.

In less than three minutes, anyone can create, launch and share with others a customized browser theme (including logo, background images, toolbar buttons, news feeds, etc.).  This powerful and free online tool can be used by small and medium businesses (SMB), associations, communities, clubs, families and friends to increase Web site visits, brand exposure and engagement.

“We consistently see our themes drive 8 to 12 times more visits than a normal visitor to our client web sites,” said Patrick Murphy, president of Brand Thunder.

Bloggers, sports teams, musicians and fan sites are already using the product to reach their online audiences. Designed as a community tool for online publishers, BT:Engage is so easy to use, Brand Thunder expects individuals will also use it to create their own themes that can be shared with families and friends.

Brand Thunder is the world leader in browser theme and custom interactive browser themes for Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Chrome. Internet brands including CBSSports.com, CollegeHumor, The Huffington Post and others are already using Brand Thunder to extend their online brand and consumer engagement.

Formed in 2007, Brand Thunder is a TechColumbus portfolio company.  Funding for the company was led by TechColumbus and Ohio TechAngel Funds.  Brand Thunder was one of the earliest investments from the TechColumbus Pre-Seed Fund.  Additional financing was also provided through the Innovation Ohio Loan Fund and NorthCoast Angels.
