TiE Ohio, the Ohio chapter of The International Entrepreneurs organization has announced the launch of TiEQuest Ohio, a business venture competition to highlight and support emerging entrepreneurs in the state. Ohio entrepreneurs can compete for a $25,000 prize package (comprising cash and services), and the winners will be entered in the global competition where they will compete for over $150,000 in prizes and an opportunity to win $1 million in investments from sponsoring funds. Charter One is the lead sponsor for the Ohio business plan competition.
“We are thrilled to be able to encourage entrepreneurship, engage emerging entrepreneurial talent, and to create an ecosystem of entrepreneurship through this high profile competition,” said Reka Barabas, executive director of TiE Ohio.
TiEQuest Business Venture Competition will accept entries from December 1, 2010 through January 31, 2011. The competition is open to all current and aspiring entrepreneurs. The Ohio finals will be held in March, 2011. Ohio winners will compete in the global competition to be held in Toronto in April, 2011.
