Description

DESCRIPTION:  The individual selected for this position will work as part of an application development team to analyze requirements, faciliate requirements sessions, document requirements, interface with business stakeholders and technical personnel.

The successful candidate will have strong analyst skills coupled with understanding and experience in full system life cycle projects.  The candidate will be familiar with traditional (waterfall) and contemporary (Agile / iterative) development life cycles, and related techniques and skills (Use Case methodology, JAD, requirements traceability and management, data and process flow diagrams, etc.).

The Business Solutions Analyst will have exceptional skills in working with business personnel of all levels to uncover the strategic and tactical needs and requirements on application development projects. The Business Solutions Analyst will also have a technical background that enables them to work with technical team members to develop software solutions.  

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE: 

  • Analytical ability to understand functional requirements and determine their impact to business objectives.
  • Ability to identify and highlight deviations between current and to-be states and effectively communicate them to the primary stakeholders.
  • Ability to work with a project manager to put together project plans, work breakdown structures and deliverables for overall solution delivery.
  • Requirements management skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to use structured and disciplined approaches to solving technical problems.
  • Six years of experience in related information technology roles, and at least two years experience in business facing analysis positions.
  • Expert level oral and written communication skills
  • Requirements documentation skills using a variety of methods (flow diagrams, Use Case, etc. ) 
  • Ability to lead requirements development sessions via JAD or other techniques
  • Subject matter expertise in financiall services such as banking, insurance, investments, etc. is a plus.
