April 25, 2011

The Central Ohio Agile Association (COHAA), central Ohio’s premier organization for Agile professionals, announces its second annual “The Path to a•gil•i•ty” Conference.  This day-long event will be held on May 26, 2011at the Arena Grand Movie Theatre in Columbus, Ohio.  “The Path to a•gil•i•ty” offers opportunities for IT and Business professionals to learn about nationwide trends in Agile software delivery, and the value organizations can realize by adopting Agile practices.

"COHAA recognizes that we have a rich local community of Agile Leaders and Practitioners," said Jennifer Bleen, COHAA Chair and Board Member.  "And we are seeing the number of companies and individuals interested in Agile increase exponentially each year.  Many of Central Ohio's businesses, including some of the largest corporations in the area, have transformed to Agile or are in the midst of their adoption.  We are committed to creating an environment where our community can learn about Agile, obtain ideas on improving their practices, and make life-long connections with others on their Agile journey.  This conference is one of many ways we deliver on that commitment and continues to be our most popular event. This year we will have in attendance some of the best and brightest Agilists from both the local and national levels."

"Our goal is to develop a nationally recognized Agile conference hosted right here in Columbus, Ohio." said Bart Murphy, COHAA Board Member and Conference Chair. "We are implementing several improvements to the conference based on retrospective feedback collected at last year's event.  These include facilitating an open space, setting up a public Wi-Fi, using larger theater rooms, and providing trolley service to the Retrospective Happy Hour/Sponsor Giveaway/IT Martini event."

“The Path to a•gil•i•ty” Conference was developed to further COHAA’s mission to promote the use of Agile practices and principles in delivering working software to organizations.  The event will feature national, regional, and local Agile thought leaders providing sessions focused on a mix of business, technical, and organizational leadership topics.  Attendees will include a strong network of regional Agile professionals.  The featured speakers for this year’s event are nationally renowned Agilists Ken Schwaber, Michael Mah, Kelly Allan, Ellen Gottesdiener, and David Laribee.  And new this year will be panel discussion on transforming the enterprise to Agile, featuring local C-level executives.

COHAA is also pleased to partner with IT Martini, a social networking organization for IT professionals.  COHAA is a proud sponsor of IT Martini Hour 17: Swing with Agility.  This professional social event will be held immediately following “The Path to a•gil•i•ty” Conference.  Registration for the COHAA conference will include admission to IT Martini Hour 17.
