The Ohio Department of Development announced approval of more than $3.25 million in economic development grants to support business growth and expansion that is expected to create 406 new jobs and retain more than 1,200 positions statewide.
In Central Ohio, Telamon, an Indiana-based provider of materials management and other services for the communications industry, has been awarded a $25,000 Rapid Outreach Grant to fund their expansion of operations in Columbus. The $195,000 expansion is expected to create 38 jobs.
In addition, Touch Bionics will receive $25,000 for costs associated with expanding its operation in Hilliard. The Scottish-based company develops a prosthetic medical device called the I-Limb. The $230,000 expansion is expected to create 20 jobs.
Rapid Outreach Grants are intended to assist companies and communities that are creating or retaining jobs in Ohio.
