Exacter Inc., a Columbus-based technology company that provides a solution that helps electric utilities identify failing equipment and prioritize the process of correcting the failure, has signed an exclusive sales, marketing and distribution agreement for the UK and Ireland with Poletecs Ltd of Wales.
Exacter’s outage-avoidance technology utilizes advanced sensory-array technology to provide early warning of failing overhead distribution equipment such as transformers, regulators, insulators, etc. GPS mapping provides location data and the system diagnoses problem severity for maintenance prioritization.
“There is nothing like Exacter technology in the UK,” says Poletecs Director Steve Horsman. “With Exacter information, we can now provide our utility customers with the ability to remove faulty equipment before failure, prevent power outages and harden their distribution systems for improved reliability.”
Exacter says it has patent-pending status in the top 45 industrial nations around the world and over the next two years expects to have similar deals in place with many of the key utility markets worldwide.
