The U.S. EPA has announced that at least $1 million in federal stimulus funds will be directed to projects in Central Ohio. Recipients of this round of clean diesel funding include Columbus Public Schools which will receive over $279,000 to replace six school buses for clean diesel alternative powered buses. Coshocton’s Ohio Central Railroad System will also receive in excess of $809,000 for work in Licking County. The awards were made as part of the National Clean Diesel Campaign which will enable private- and public-sector entities to retrofit or replace highway and locomotive diesel engines with those that produce fewer emissions.
