CleveX and Other Central Ohio Companies Receive Awards from State to Support Expansion Plans and Job Creation

The Ohio Department of Development announced awards for six Central Ohio companies, including CleveX, to support plans for growth and job creation/retention. CleveX has been awarded $637,500 from the Innovation Ohio Loan Fund to be used for development and acquisition of tooling, molds and machinery and equipment which will allow the company to develop its ExiClip-L surgical product. The project is expected to create 10 jobs and assist in retaining three positions

Other companies receiving awards include:

Accel, Inc. received a 45 percent Job Creation Tax Credit for a five-year term as a result of the company’s relocation to the Village of New Albany. Accel is a manufacturer providing kit assembly, packaging, gift wrapping, labeling, shrink wrapping services, and quality sort services primarily for the personal care and beauty industry. This project includes the construction of a new 500,000-square-foot building to house manufacturing, distribution, research and development, and headquarter operations. The more than $20 million project is expected to create 25 jobs and retain 206 positions.

GenPak Solutions, LLC was awarded a 45 percent Job Creation Tax Credit for a seven-year term as a result of the company’s new location in the City of Hilliard. GenPak Solutions is a start-up pharmaceutical packaging company providing unit dose packaging services, including compliance packaging for generic and brand manufacturing companies, as well as institutional health care providers. This project is expected to create 50 jobs.

International Technical Coatings, Inc. has been awarded a $2 million 166 Direct Loan and more than $3 million from the Ohio Enterprise Bond Fund as well as a 50 percent Job Creation Tax Credit for a seven-year term as a result of the company’s new location in the City of Columbus.

International Technical Coatings is the premier automated wire fabricator in the US. It currently operates 360,000 square feet of manufacturing and disturbing facilities with more than 140 employees. Plans call for the building of a new manufacturing facility. The company is expected to create 120 new jobs in Central Ohio.

Kenexis Consulting Corporation has been awarded a 45 percent Job Creation Tax Credit for a six-year term as a result of the company’s new location in the City of Upper Arlington. Kenexis is a private industrial consulting firm focusing on safety and process improvements for industrial clients worldwide. This project includes the expansion of a 7,000-square-foot facility to house future growth of its industrial consulting office operations. The project is expected to create 10 jobs and retain 16 positions.

Columbus-Franklin County Finance Authority has been awarded $2 million from the Innovation Ohio Loan Fund to be used for the acquisition of intellectual property and enabling Kern International to commercialize, manufacture, and sell the Ai33, the next generation of paper handling machines. The more than $4 million project is expected to create 55 jobs and assist in retaining 20 positions.
