.CO Domains Now Available

The .CO domain extensions for Web site addresses became available for sale to the public this week.  Because .CO is thought to be an abbreviation for the word company, the extension is projected to be very popular for business and commercial Web sites.  Businesses concerned with protecting their brands are encouraged to at least consider reserving the .CO extension.  Cost for registering a domain is under $30. 

Some skeptics question whether the extensions will gain as much traction as anticipated, but a number of big names have already jumped on the bandwagon.  For example Twitter registered t.co and Overstock.com reportedly just paid $350,000 for o.co.
