Webbed Marketing, a social media marketing and search engine optimization company in central Ohio, endorses Issue 1, which renews funding for the Third Frontier, a program that fosters technology-based research and development and the creation of new jobs, without raising taxes for citizens. Passage of Issue 1 will authorize $700 million in bonds to extend funding through at least 2016.
“National economists are projecting that a significant percentage of net job growth is expected to come from compaines that are five years old or younger,” Amy Marshall, partner and COO of Webbed Marketing, said. “Providing entrepreneurs and businesses the resources we need to expand and prosper is one of the best ways to increase job opportunity in Ohio.”
Issue 1 will appear on the May 4 statewide ballot in Ohio. The measure proposes to authorize the state to approve an estimated $700 million bond over four years on the Ohio Third Frontier program. The $1.6 billion Third Frontier program started in 2002 under former Gov. Bob Taft and was designed to extend until 2012. However, according to officials, due to low state revenue, the program is now scheduled to end early. According to the Ohio Department of Development, the program has created approximately 500 companies and 8,000 jobs since 2002.
“Ohio has seen the effects of the Third Frontier program on our community, with immense job growth and new business opportunities since 2002,” Marshall said. “Issue 1 is an investment in Ohio’s economy and economic growth strategy. By voting yes on Issue 1, $175 million a year will be available for new business opportunities- this is an excellent opportunity for growth in these tight economic times.”
Webbed Marketing is proud to endorse this issue and encourages you to vote on May 4, 2010. To learn more about the importance of Issue 1, visit www.unitedforjobsohio.com
