With more than 10.5 million hits to the library website, the CML has become an invaluable resource for central Ohio small business and technology companies.
Patrick Losinski, Executive Director of the Columbus Metropolitan Library, said the recognition as 2010 Library of the Year is due to the quality of the programs they offer and their use of smart business practices.
Self-checkout of 17 million items a year has saved library users and CML staff countless hours and has allowed more time to build relationships, to coordinate community volunteers for homework help, and to create job help centers.
“We have been smart in how we utilize technology and we make the library personal and strive to understand and serve our customers based on their needs,” said Losinski.
CML and TechColumbus collaborate in many ways and one example is the Central Ohio Entrepreneurs website.
