Dark Fiber Network Expansion by DataCenter.BZ within Columbus Metro Market and Network Access across State of Ohio

Columbus, Ohio – December 8, 2010 – DataCenter.BZ, a Tier IV, carrier-neutral data center and regional provider of dark fiber announced today expansions to its wholly-owned dark fiber network along with connections to another large Ohio middle-mile infrastructure project. DataCenter.BZ owns outright its dark fiber infrastructure—conduits, dark fiber cables, laterals, etc.—and makes it available to end users (municipalities, carriers, enterprise customers) through both short- and long-term IRUs. In addition to directly connecting end users with its Tier IV data center for purposes of colocation, hosted/managed solutions, multi-carrier access and other data center solutions, DataCenter.BZ also offers dark fiber point-to-point networking and dedicated ring configurations throughout Franklin and Delaware counties, including along the following expanded routes:

• throughout the entire Columbus FiberNet (CFN) system (70-mile ring around and through downtown Columbus)

• 23-mile Polaris loop

• Northern corridor serving the city and county of Delaware (newly constructed)

• various laterals to multiple buildings in downtown Columbus and along the I-270 outerbelt (newly constructed)

Additionally, DataCenter.BZ’s dark fiber network is now also being leveraged by another large middle-mile infrastructure project within Ohio involving federal broadband stimulus grants and connecting to DataCenter.BZ’s carrier-rich facility and peering point where national, regional and local communications providers operating in Ohio interconnect with each other and with businesses reliant upon secure, redundant carrier access. Consolidated Electric Cooperative’s 166-mile middle-mile fiber network is being constructed from Columbus to Mansfield and points in between, serving as the catalyst for economic development by providing enhanced broadband availability, coupled with affordable, reliable power. The network provides carrier-neutral dark fiber lease opportunities crossing multiple LATA boundaries to expand new and existing telecommunications services from central Ohio to northeast Ohio.
