Three plus years’ experience with website development is required. The successful candidate must know a dynamic development language such as Perl, Python, Ruby or Groovy. Candidates must be proficient with regular expressions and with using Linux command line and working with SQL is required.

Dublin-based Internet Company, WorthPoint, is currently seeking a Data Developer/Engineer to work with UNIX/Linux based data management web site. The Data Engineer is responsible for acquiring, importing, transforming & managing our unique database of tens of millions of historical prices.

Support & maintain our current data management routines as well as help expand and refine our methods. Our current code base is largely Perl, integrating with other Groovy-based components.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Previous work with website development is required.
• The successful candidate must know a dynamic development language such as Perl, Python, Ruby or Groovy.
• Candidates must be proficient with regular expressions and with using Linux command line and working with SQL is required.
• Must be highly analytical in dealing with a large volume of daata, but also flexible and self-motivated for our dynamic small company environment.
• Additional skills using XML and JSON are beneficial. Please have a Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years’ experience.
