| Description |
The METTLER TOLEDO Industrial Division is a leading global supplier of industrial weighing solutions sold into a variety of industries including pharmaceutical, household products, chemical, food & beverage, mining, logistics, and environmental services. METTLER TOLEDO industrial weighing solutions include sensor technologies, scale structures, scale electronics, and associated software for data management. The Industrial Terminals Strategic Product Group develops and implements the strategic product direction for our global terminal product line. A critical element of success for the terminals business is executing strategies that optimize data management. This includes developing marketing materials that communicate existing products’ data management and communications capabilities, analyzing industrial communications trends impacting future requirements, assessing 3rd party products and services that support those requirements, and pursuing new business opportunities requiring customized data management solutions. Another key element is to include existing software tools, used with many of our terminals to provide data integration and management capabilities, within our future data management software roadmap. It is essential that the individual is technically astute (especially regarding industrial communications technologies) as well as marketing-oriented with the ability to assess and manage business development opportunities. The individual will have significant interaction with the Terminals Product Managers as well as the Engineering and Development Group.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and execute terminal data management strategies that directly lead to the growth of the overall terminals business.

Develop marketing and technical support materials that substantiate the data communication capabilities of the existing terminals portfolio.
- Define and manage terminals testing and certifications relative to data communication capabilities.

Assess current and future customer needs relative to terminals data management and communication requirements; subsequently building business cases and strategies for addressing those needs.

Develop strategies for effective terminal integration in conjunction with other MT groups whose products inter-relate with terminals (e.g. BU Vehicle, BU OEM, Packaging and Inspection, Process Analytics).

In conjunction with Product Managers determine product enhancement strategies that increase terminals’ data management and communication capabilities.
- Define the PLC interface strategy for existing and future terminals.
- Define the interface strategy for external Windows based applications.
- Define the interface strategy for OPC enabled applications.

Take the leadership role in assessing opportunities and delivering solutions as it relates to customer business development opportunities requiring non-standard data management and communication.

Work with BUSI Engineering and TaskExpert® Product Support to develop strategies for delivering improved data management capabilities for existing software applications (e.g. Fill-560, Batch-780).

Work with BUSI Engineering to define the data management and communication marketing requirements for new terminal projects and product line extensions.

Develop relationships and joint business opportunities with 3rd party suppliers of products that help deliver data management, tracking & tracing, and communication enhancements to the current terminals product portfolio.

Provide product management for select MTWT Systems Group products (initially to include Rail Coupled in Motion and Vehicle Unattended Weighing Terminals).

Provide product 2nd level technical support to the sales channel regarding data management and communication.

Provide process weighing terminal 2nd level technical support as needed.

Create marketing collateral including technical bulletins, training materials, application stories, and web content that supports data integration capabilities.
EDUCATION:
A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field is required. An MBA is preferred.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
This position has a travel requirement of up to 25% including both domestic and international travel (by commercial or personal means, including economy class air travel). The ability to obtain a passport with valid visas for entry into countries throughout the world is required.
