Astute Solutions, a fast-growing CRM software and services company, is currently recruiting for an experienced Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a robust cross-product reporting solution for Astute’s entire line of commercial software applications.
Summary: This position will be responsible for the overall design and implementation of a commercial reporting solution for Astute Solution’s suite of products. The ideal candidate for this job will have experience designing robust data reporting solutions and leading a team of developers. The main focus of this role will be:

Establishing the architectural vision for the commercial reporting solution which will include data warehouses, data marts, data cubes, business intelligence, and end-user access layers

Participating in the discovery and documentation of business usage scenarios and be responsible for the creation of functional design specifications to satisfy the identified business usage scenarios

Ensuring that the architecture will support the growing enterprise, analytical reporting, and data integration needs of Astute Solutions customers

Providing technical and thought leadership for the reporting solutions being developed

Leading a team of internal and external developers to build the enterprise reporting solutions Responsibilities:

Leading the development of the company’s commercial reporting solution strategy including the definition and implementation of the following:
- Technical requirements and functional design specifications
- Data organization hierarchies and structures o Technical and data architectures for the data warehouse
- ETL process, including data capture, data quality, loading, and testing o Information access and delivery effort
- Security requirements
- Meta data standards
- Production release requirements and sustainment architecture
- Data dictionary, data repository, and data governance/stewardship
- Physical architecture, server and storage, to support technical and SDLC requirements

Defining, establishing and communicating data architecture guidelines, standards, and best practices

Developing project plans and leading projects involving both internal and external resources

Ensuring all standards for development, documentation, version control, and security are followed
Required Skills:

Experience in setting strategic direction for information and data warehousing tools and best practices that support data architecture, data profiling, data quality management and metadata management
-
Current knowledge of the data warehouse market; vendors and standards bodies
-
In-depth knowledge with current industry trends related to data warehousing, data management and enterprise reporting
-
Experience and ability to develop and define the future state using tools and technologies that facilitate an understanding of the processes, data and physical layers

Experience and ability to identify and document data integration issues; including challenges such as duplicate data, non-conformed data, and unclean data
-
Strong technical skills with all data warehousing technologies including Open Source solutions (e.g., ETL, ODS, DBMS, BI)

Strong data modeling skills (normalized and multidimensional)

Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills

Strong oral and written communication abilities

Must be able to communicate and influence at all levels of the organization

Project Management experience with the ability to handle multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment

Strong team player with the proven ability to lead and work well with others in order to meet project milestones, manage customer expectations and to mentor others on the team

Broad-based information technology experience (e.g., EAI, XML)
