Experience

Required Qualifications: Three years of experience in database development in a SQL 2005/2008 environment; three years of ETL development using Microsoft Integration Services; experience creating reports using Microsoft Reporting Services; strong DBA experience; experience writing stored procedures and functions; in-depth troubleshooting ability; excellent communication skills and the ability to foster a team-focused environment; demonstrates a strong work ethic, high-level of initiative, and a positive and proactive demeanor. Desired Qualifications: Strong MS SQL server DBA experience as well as experience in MYSQL, MOSS environment; experience with scripting languages such as PHP, .Net, C# and Java; understands SDLC methodology.

Description

Summary of Duties Development and support of third-party relational database management systems, database management system software and database system data; able to work individually as well as with a team of specialists responsible for the creation and maintenance of databases; provides application design support/optimizations and software upgrades; assists with the conceptualization, design, development, preparation, maintenance and disaster recovery of databases; identifies and quickly resolves problems involving database creation and use; conducts cross-training with colleagues to ensure redundancy of knowledge; creates applications that read, gather, and input data into databases; conceptualizes new projects/applications; develops positive relationships with users, owners of data, and other IT staff; develops relationships with professional organizations, vendor user forums, peer groups and industry trade groups. Produce and maintain documentation, configuration details, and change controls for databases and associated applications. Perform routine, corrective, preventative, and performance related maintenance for all FCOB database and respective/associated database server software platforms. Supports both production and projects in a matrix managed environment.
