As a next-generation data center, in terms of power, Datacenter101 has one of the strongest power stories that can be told. To have a building that straddles two Utility companies with no crossover (wires don't hang on the same poles, disconnects are at opposite ends of the building, etc. is truly one of Datacenter101's best attributes.  Our power feeds are fully redundant and scalable to meet the diverse needs of our customers. Most data center facilities sit on a single power grid or at best are fed from two grids (that are most often fed from a single substation). That generally makes them susceptible to outages that would occur from a single sub-station or from a single power company (e.g. cascade grid failure). In those situations data centers at large cannot (even though they do) claim that they are on multiple power sources. As such a second generator is often purchased so they can meet the “three independent power source” criteria. Datacenter101 has three independent power sources. We have two completely separate utilities plus an onsite backup diesel generator. Our utility sources are not fed from the same substation, the same grid or the same power vault. These are completely independent and separate right down to the point of entry into our facility. Each power source is dedicated to the data center and sized to carry 100% of the load. Additionally, our fail-over system uses “make-before-break” technology which seamlessly responds to any irregularities in power delivery thereby eliminating the risk of a power outage in the event of an emergency. Our standalone power sources and  fail-over technology give our customers the peace of mind that we can meet our Service Level Agreement (SLA) of 100% guaranteed uptime. Datacenter101 reinforces “No Single Point of Failure" through its power distribution. We incorporate a true A and B power system that utilizes two power paths that are entirely separate and diverse. This approach provides our customers with an additional layer of power redundancy.

Datacenter101 utilizes high capacity Liebert Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) units that provide precise, year-round cooling.  Our CRAC units have multiple components of redundancy to include: multi stage un-loaders, compressors, dry coolers and independently operated fans to promote power efficiency. Furthermore, our units are ducted into our engineered hot aisle/cold aisle architecture which strategically balance dense loads and maintains an optimal temperature in the data center. Datacenter101 is professionally cleaned and maintained by the same company that cleans for Microsoft, Google and DoD as well as other high profile companies. From our last regular scheduled cleaning, our center received an “excellent” particulate air quality rating by our vendor and qualified the Datacenter101 as an “ISO Clean” room.
