Robert Half Technology is seeking a DB2, DBA. Job responsibilities include:
- Performs role as project leader (i.e., plans, administers and coordinates all aspects of and activities related to) for design, implementation and operation of very large and complex data base systems under multiple relational data base management systems (e.g., DB2, Oracle, UDB DB2, and SQL Server) across multiple hardware platforms (e.g., z/OS, AIX, Windows / Intel)
- implements new designs, recommends new data base management software design, tests and reviews RDBMS system call patterns in application programs, reviews application test results to ensure data base is designed and tuned efficiently and
- acts as project leader (e.g., assigns tasks and projects, monitors progress, evaluates work and provides work direction) over senior-level data base analysts (i.e., Data Base Analyst 3 and/or 4 employees) and/or programmer analysts and/or system analysts in implementation and ongoing development of date base portion of new projects.
- Plans, administers and coordinates all aspects of and activities related to design, implementation and operation of very large and complex dimensional datamart databases and/or data warehouse database systems for user access and/or tax discovery purposes.
- Implements and supports business intelligence and/or query tools to access warehouse or datamart database data. Writes or designs programs, or utilizes tools to extract, transform and load operational or external data into datamart or data warehouse databases.
- 24/7 on call support.
- Independently resolves user problems and maintains user contact to assess needs, answer questions and provide technical information; trains lower-level data base analysts; assists programming staff in reviewing call patterns for efficiency.
Qualifications:
- 9+ years experience in systems analysis & design, & computer programming using COBOL &/or other programming language, with experieence as a Leader over large & complex data base systems.
- 7+ years experience in design & maintenance of data base management system executing on one platform, with 3+ years of which as team/project leader;
- 2+ years experience in computer programming using COBOL
- 2+ years experience as Data Base Analyst
- 4+ years experience as Data Base Administrator
- Degree in computer science or associate degree in computer information science;
