With recent recognition from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) and invitations to speak before other regional economic development organizations around the country and the globe, the Dublin Entrepreneurial Center (DEC) is becoming widely recognized for its best practices in creating an entrepreneurial ecosystem.
A major contributor to the success of the DEC is the caliber and extent of the events it organizes to educate and energize the entrepreneurial community. Since its opening in April 2009, the DEC has hosted 129 events with nearly 3,000 attendees.
The DEC now serves as home to more than 47 tenants, including companies located in the Green Integrator, the DEC’s second floor dedicated to creating and attracting “green businesses” and accelerating the transition of existing businesses to the green economy.
From its launch 19 months ago, when TechColumbus and Socius were the only tenants, to today, the DEC has not only grown in terms of events, activities and tenants, but also as a model of best practices for other communities seeking to create their own entrepreneurial ecosystem.
