The King Arts Complex seeks a qualified candidate for the position of Development Director. The Development Director works under the direction of the Executive Director and is a key member of the King Arts Complex staff.
This position is responsible for a comprehensive annual contributed income plan that will meet established revenue goals.
Focus will be made to include participation from corporations, government agencies, foundations and individuals.
This position conceives, develops and implements the fundraising action strategy, based on a budget and goal program developed with Finance Director, Program Director(s) and Executive Director. Primary focus is growing the annual donor base by identifying major prospects and closing gifts. Primary requirements for this job include:
Tasks:
Meet established contributed revenue goals, Engage and solicit prospective individual corporate, foundation and individual donors, Develop and implement a detailed Funding Action Plan, Identify, qualify, and manage a portfolio of special and major gift prospects, Oversee fundraising and stewardship activities including fundraising events, and represent KAC at designated functions and events related to fundraising.
Knowledge:
Proven success in closing small and major gifts, Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic development plans, and to organize, initiate and motivate, fundraising databases, i.e., retrieving and analyzing information to advance fundraising efforts, and Strong understanding of and enthusiasm for the arts and arts education
Skills:
Assess and evaluate efforts and outcomes of development activities, and make appropriate revisions to the development action plan, Assess and evaluate efforts and outcomes of development activities, and make appropriate revisions to the development action plan, Strong writing proficiency in conjunction with excellent time, project management and oral presentation skills.
Education: and Experience:
Bachelor's or advanced degree preferred, Minimum of 5 years of senior development experience required, and Impeccable and demonstrable "growth" track record of achieving or exceeding contributed revenue goals
