Experience
  • Sales management experience of at least 5 years required, with knowledge of various sales techniques such as Solution Selling.
  • Have the experience and proven techniques to get to the “decision maker” (VP level) on a very consistent basis.
  • The ability to earn the respect of and be a strong leader of the sales team.
  • The commitment to work the necessary hours to achieve the sales goals.
  • Ability to be “nicely persistent” with internal and external customers to obtain results – proactively working to achieve goals.
  • Have an unusually high attention to detail, including great grammar, spelling, and tremendous follow-up skills. Extremely organized to handle a very high number of prospects and daily tasks.
  • Periodic national travel required – up to 2 days per week. Be self sufficient, at least at a “moderate” knowledge level, with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Always be ethical in all interactions with the customer and fellow associates.
  • Be accessible – return calls as soon as possible, within the same day.
  • Be politically savvy in your interaction with the customers, the GPOs, and other professional interactions.

Description

HLS MedFreight ® is an information services company focused on healthcare logistics. We take pride in being the first company to manage inbound and outbound freight for providers (hospitals, clinics, etc.) in the healthcare industry. We are a rapidly growing privately-held company located in Westerville, Ohio. Information technology has been key to our success and is the platform for our planned future growth. We are expanding our sales team to include an experienced, energetic, highly motivated manager who will excel in a fast paced company.

The qualified candidate for this position will be working in a very professional, customer focused company that is the market leader in provider-driven healthcare freight management. The candidate will be properly compensated for being dedicated to the company and working the commensurate time to ensure sales goals are achieved. There is tremendous demand for inbound/outbound freight management within healthcare and HLS MedFreight needs a leader to dedicate their highly focused selling skills on this program.

Objectives:

  • To earn the opportunity of implementing the HLS MedFreight program to as many health systems as possible.
  • To ensure all customers perceive HLS MedFreight as professional, ethical, keeping our word, and focused on reducing their costs.
  • To be true to the HLS MedFreight mission and unifying principles.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Assist the VP of Professional Services in managing the sales team in a professional, positive manner, and coaching the team to achieve the company sales goals
  • Approximately 60% of your time will be dedicated to management activities.
  • Provide day-to-day oversight of the sales teams’ activities. The team consists of 4 – 6 associates.
  • Sell the HLS MedFreight program through the entire sales cycle, ensuring there is a signed contract and the customer is “live” on the freight program. 40% of your time will be dedicated to direct selling.
  • Ability to analyze sales data trends and develop an action plan to reduce the sales cycle time and exceed budget sales plan.
  • Assist in planning and measuring the success of the team, and then guiding the team to make the necessary adjustment to achieve goals.
  • Document and conduct quarterly performance appraisals with the sales team.
  • Organize, plan, and prioritize work for self and the team, based on budgetary goals.
  • Work with healthcare Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) contacts to obtain a meeting/conference call with the Vice President or Director of Materials Management at individual hospitals.
  • Learn and lead contract discussions with customers
  • Be a customer liaison for all questions/issues and coordinate answers for freight management questions with other HLS MedFreight team members.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties that correspond to the proper development of the sales team.
