BS degree in relevant engineering discipline and a minimum of six months of related experience; or MS degree in relevant engineering discipline, engineering experience preferred.

Experience
  • Solid modeling experience, preferably SolidWorks
  • Experience in the medical device industry preferred.
  • Basic understanding of conducting and interpreting statistical analyses.
  • Must have the ability to multitask.
  • Minimal travel required.
  • Good English communication skills (written and oral).
Description

The engineer is responsible to design various medical devices, including catheters, scopes, and product line extensions, from concept through the development process. Under supervision, receives general instructions about required tasks and results expected. Work is usually well defined and is checked for progress and reviewed for accuracy upon completion. Applies standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjusts and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies in results, and follows operations through a series of related detailed steps and processes. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities • Design and development of medical products • Knowledge of in-vitro product performance testing and the relevance to in-vivo testing. • Ability to develop and validate in-vitro test methods and reporting of results. • Responsible for product design characterization completion to ensure successful design verification and design validation. • Prepares documentation in accordance with FDA guidelines of Design Control • Responsible for preparing and performing design reviews and pre-validation assessments • Interacts with 3rd party manufacturers ensuring proper design transfer • Performs assignments using the application of standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks. • Moderate exercise of judgment is required on details of work and in making selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives. • Assesses the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering evaluation tests, products or equipment. • Performs work which involves conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents. • Responsible for ensuring personal and company compliance with all Federal, State, local and company regulations, policies and procedures. • Preparation of engineering specifications, descriptions and products. • Other duties as assigned.
