BS degree in relevant engineering discipline and a minimum of six months of related experience; or MS degree in relevant engineering discipline, engineering experience preferred.

• Solid modeling experience, preferably SolidWorks
• Experience in the medical device industry preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing scale-up is desirable
• Demonstrated ability to manage suppliers is expected
• Must have the ability to multitask.
• Understanding statistical analysis is a plus
• Microsoft Project experience is beneficial
• Minimal travel required.
• Good English communication skills (written and oral).

The engineer, medical device is responsible to design various medical devices, including urinary catheters, scopes, and product line extensions, from concept through the entire development process. Receives general instructions about required tasks and results expected. Applies standard engineering practices and techniques to specific tasks, analyzes and correlates data, identifies and addresses key issues or discrepancies, and follows activities through to successful completion under moderate supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Design and develop medical products under a quality system
• Prepare for and perform design reviews and pre-validation assessments, verification and validation testing (including protocol development)
• Document Design History File and Design Control in accordance with FDA guidelines
• Interact with 3rd party manufacturers in development and design transfer
• Perform assignments using the application of standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks.
• Exercise of judgment on details of work and in making selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
• Assess the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering evaluation tests, products or equipment.
• Prepare product descriptions and engineering specifications
• Ensure personal and company compliance with all Federal, State, local and company regulations, policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
