EPA Commits Nearly $100M in Contracts to Battelle for Projects to Improve Air and Water Quality and Clean up Communities

October 13, 2011

In September Battelle was awarded five contracts totaling nearly $100 million from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).  Battelle’s Energy, Environment and Material Sciences Global Business (EEMS) will lead the work on the five contracts which will provide the EPA with Battelle research and technical services ranging from water infrastructure/resource improvement to assessing toxicological effects from biological contaminants to ensuring the confidence of data used to assess the nation’s air quality.

Karen Riggs, Battelle’s EPA relationship manager, said that support for these contracts will come from all corners of Battelle.

“The scope of the new contracts will require broad capabilities from across all the Battelle Global Businesses – Energy, Environment, and Materials Sciences, Health and Life Sciences, National Security, and Laboratory Management,” she said.
