IT Salaries Increase Even During Economic Downturn

 A recent survey of IT professionals indicates that salaries continue to rise despite the recession. The IT training company, Global Knowledge, in conjunction with TechRepublic, released the 2009 IT Skills and Salary Report which reported the average base salary in 2009 for IT workers in the US is $81,600. (The average for the Midwest is $77.6K according to the report.) The survey, conducted between October 20 and November 11, 2008, further determined that 70 percent of the over 14,000 survey participants received a salary increase [Read More]

DoMedia Names CEO

DoMedia has named Andrew Mansinne as CEO. In this role, he will lead the operations of DoMedia, an online advertising database focused on alternative and out-of-home media. Previously Mansinne was a top marketing executive with Napa Valley-based Foster’s Wine Estates Americas. Prior to that, he spent more than a decade with wine and liquor maker Brown-Forman Corp. of Louisville, KY. MIT Spinoff Closes $5M Series A Funding Round With Investments from Battelle Ventures

Hepregen Corp., a biotechnology company developing a platform for reducing the liver toxicity caused by approved drugs, has closed its series A funding with commitment of the final $2 million in a total $5 million investment from Battelle Ventures and its funding partner, Innovation Valley Partners. The company initially received $3 million in September of last year from Battelle Ventures and Innovation Valley Partners.
