OSU Engineering Students Win First Place in Automotive Tech Project
A team of OSU Engineering students beat out 16 other teams from around the world in the first phase of the U.S. Department of Energy’s EcoCAR competition. The NeXt Challenge is a competition to improve automotive technology in which students must re-engineer a 2009 Saturn Vue to improve fuel economy and reduce emissions while retaining performance and consumer appeal.
By winning the competition, the OSU team earned a new Saturn Vue and a spot in the second phase of the competition which will take place at Arizona’s Yuma Proving Ground. [Read More]

OCLC and National Library of France Sign Agreement to Add Resources to WorldCat
Representatives from OCLC and the Bibliotheque nationale de France (BnF) have signed an agreement in Paris that will provide for the addition of records from the French National Library to OCLC’s WorldCat database.
WorldCat is the world’s largest online resource for information found in libraries. It currently holds 137 million records in its database including the records of 34 national libraries. The French library will constitute an additional estimated 13.2 million bibliographic records.

AEP Announces Plan to Add Solar Power to its Portfolio of Renewable Energy
AEP has agreed to purchase all of the output of a solar power plant soon to be built in Ohio’s Wyandot County. Wyandot Solar LLC has plans for a 10.08-megawatt solar energy facility to open mid-summer 2010. AEP has signed a 20-year agreement to purchase all of plant’s output and renewable energy credits.
