State Legislators to Propose Expansion of Ohio Capital Fund

Ohio Third Frontier Accepting Grants for Innovation in Advanced Materials and Sensors
The Ohio Third Frontier (OTF) has announced RFPs in two of its key domain programs: advanced materials and sensors. The FY2010 OTF Advanced Materials Program anticipates awarding up to $10 million in support of R&D that addresses the technical and cost barriers to commercialization of advanced materials products particularly in polymer and carbon nano-materials, liquid crystals, and bio-based materials. Minimally Invasive Devices Raises $2M in Series B Financing
Minimally Invasive Devices LLC (MID) has procured $2 million in Series B funding. Charter Life Sciences led the round, joined by Reservoir Partners.
The Columbus-based medical device startup developed the FloShield, a device for keeping the end of laparoscopic surgical instruments clean.
