Ohio’s Business Climate Ranked 4th Highest in the Nation by Site Selection Magazine
In its annual business climate rankings, Site Selection magazine has named Ohio fourth in the nation based on new plant construction data and survey results from site selectors. The state, which leads the Midwest, is up from seventh place in 2008. The rankings are determined partially by performance in Conway Data’s New Plant Database, which tracks new and expanded facility activity, and a national survey of corporate site selectors.

For the second consecutive quarter, venture capital investments in cleantech companies have experienced significant growth. According to an Ernst & Young report ,cleantech venture investments reached $965 million in third quarter 2009 – a 46 percent jump over the prior quarter.
The Energy/Electricity Generation sector received the largest amount of these investments ($316 million). Solar technologies led the way in this sector with $309 million invested across five deals.
