The Alleviating Poverty Through Entrepreneurship (APTE) Summit is a dynamic conference that engages students, academics, and community leaders to explore market-based solutions to local and global poverty. Started in 2009, APTE has grown to a 400+ attendee event, thanks in part to our dynamic speakers who are movers and shakers in their field. Organizations who have been a part of APTE include Ashoka, Acumen Fund, Freshbox Catering, Nuru International, the World Bank, Kiva, Energize Clinton County, Medic Mobile, Procter & Gamble, World of Good Development Organization, PassionWorks Studio, and many more. This year, APTE focuses on how innovation in the sectors of healthcare, energy, and education are fighting poverty. We are also proud to announce that Jessica Jackley, the co-founder of Kiva, will keynote APTE 2011.
Even better? This TED-esque conference is absolutely FREE to attend and open to the public, thanks to the $28,000 that the student team has already raised.
