An independent research report from Forrester Research predicts that online sales will be the growth engine for the retail industry this holiday shopping season. Online sales are predicted to grow 8 percent this year, while traditional retail “bricks and mortar” sales are expected to remain flat. This would bring online sales to $44.7 billion this year which follows a 5 percent growth year-over-year from 2007 to 2008.
