Fresh Perspectives: Opportunities for Linking Research and Engagement to Economic Development

A one-day free seminar hosted by: The Ohio State University College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, ATECH, Technology Licensing and Commercialization, and TechColumbus.

A poster session featuring new technologies and research within the College and their potential economic value will be a part of the event. We invite you to present a poster describing research you are doing that may have commercial impact. If you wish to present a poster session or table-top display, please contact Laura Coffee at lcoffee@techcolumbus.org or call 614.675.3755 by Friday, January 29th at 5:00 pm.

12:45 pm   Discussion Round Tables: Explore commercial uses and applications for technologies from the posters and ways CFAES can leverage its resources to help commercial partners stimulate the economy.

 

  • Food Security, Production, and Human Health-Focused on improving agricultural production; enhancing the quality of food and feed; ensuring an adequate, affordable, and safe food supply; and maintaining agrosecurity to ensure food security and the basics of nutritional health for a growing global population.
  • Environmental Quality and Sustainability-Facilitator: Ron Hendricks                                                 Working to understand, protect, and remediate the environment and ecosystems to ensure long-term sustainability.
  • Advanced Bioenergy and Biobased Products – Facilitator:  David Benfield                                Developing biomass-based advanced energy technologies and value-added biobased products such as fuels, specialty chemicals, and fiber products.
