Workstate is an interactive consultancy in Columbus, Ohio. Our core group of consultants have been working together to build a company focused on the success of our clients and the personal growth of our employees. We specialize in Website Design, Information Architecture, Website Development, Rich Internet Applications, Intranet Development, and Data Migrations.

Why We Need Someone

We need to build the next generation of Workstate consultants. The success of our past projects has enabled us to focus on building an organization that will ensure our success in the future. We’re looking for a contract-to-hire developer, which will ideally be hired on as a Junior Consultant. We need smart, self-starting people who want to—in a very real sense—run their own business someday.

What the Job Will Require

A Junior Consultant is primarily responsible for implementation of the software systems designed by one of our Senior Consultants. We are specifically looking for a Frontend Developer, someone with knowledge and skill in the following areas: Standards Based Design - HTML4, HTML5, XHTML 1, CSS2, CSS3 Concepts - Cross Browser, Grid Based Design, Usability, Accessibility, Open Source Javascript Development - AJAX/XHR; jQuery, YUI Web Application Frameworks - ASP.Net, Rails, Django Databases - MySQL, SQLite, PostgreSQL, SQL Server Programming Languages - PHP, Ruby, Python, C# Our ideal candidate has competency in one item from each list. So if you’ve built web applications written in Python using Django hitting a SQLite database with a HTML5 and CSS so that you could experiment with Ogg Vorbis playing natively in Firefox 5—you’re an ideal candidate. Aside from the implementation of software systems, you will be responsible for keeping up-to-date on the latest technologies and advancements in software development as a profession. We are located in Columbus, Ohio so we require that you either already live in the Central Ohio area or are prepared to move here.
