Future Path Medical LLC awarded Patent

July 16, 2010

Future Path Medical, LLC. (FPM), a leader in innovation for the automation of clinical fluid monitoring and reporting, announced today that it has been awarded US Patent No. 7,739,907.The patent covers technology used in both the iBag™ and the UroSense™ product families to collect and measure output flow over time
of physiological fluids and to assist caregivers with new answers to related regulatory changes, improved working conditions and most of all patient safety.

This patented technology will bring FPM to the forefront of leadership in clinical fluid management in providing a solution to the needs of patients and the improvement of healthcare for quadriplegia, spinal cord injury, and incontinence in the U.S. and internationally. “This clinical fluid management technology is a prime example of our strategy to connect innovative science to patient care. We believe that the protection of our
intellectual property, as well as our pending approval from the FDA, will significantly increase FPM's market capitalization to position us for a successful product launch,” said Ty Bryant, Future Path Medical’s founder
and chairman.

The breakthrough medical devices from FPM will address caregiver labor productivity and early detection of infections, particularly urinary tract infections (UTIs) for the many patients who receive them—including ICU
patients, of whom 90% receive Foley Catheters and 70% of these catheterized patients develop UTIs within their first 72 hours. “Further value is derived from the fact that nosocomial infections, including
UTIs, are no longer being reimbursed since the October 2008 CMS announcements,” commented Ty Bryant, founder and chairman. He continued, “Future Path stands ready to help if the spread of new airborne infections such as MRSA, combined with the UTI threat, leads to new regulation for stricter management of catheterized patients.”

FPM research studies show an increase in caregiver effectiveness by eliminating manual calculations and reducing errors, saving as much as one work hour per nurse per shift. Nurses and caregivers will be excited
that FPM’s innovative and disposable system significantly reduces contact with urine and gives them what they want most—more time with their patients. Patient safety is also improved by providing real time and historic flow rate, core body temperature monitoring, overflow warnings and alerts,
and less exposure to vaporized urine. Max Stachura, M.D., a Harvard University graduate and an Eminent Scholar in Telemedicine, Medicine, and Medicine Education, says, “For patients who are in
ICUs or burn units, as well as spinal cord patients whose fluid balance is far more sensitive and requires a much more meticulous attention to fluid details, the iBag™ System, when FDA 510K approved, will offer a complete solution that provides a new level of accuracy and ease of wireless data collection that we’ve
not seen before.”
