Health Care DataWorks (HCD), an OSU spinoff providing enterprise data warehousing and business analytics solutions for healthcare organizations, has been included in the list of “Cool Vendors in Healthcare Providers, 2011” report by Gartner, Inc.
HCD is one of five vendors highlighted in the report. The Cool Vendors are recognized for providing innovative and potentially transformative solutions for healthcare delivery organizations. One of the report’s key findings is that, while healthcare delivery organizations are highly interested in deploying enterprise data warehouses to integrate clinical data into their business intelligence and performance management initiatives, few vendors have the necessary expertise to do accomplish this.
Gartner reported that HCD’s offering includes a robust healthcare enterprise data model, hundreds of standard reports and a number of pre-built dashboards and scorecards.
Gartner regularly publishes lists of cool vendors in a number of IT fields. A cool vendor is defined as a company that offers technologies or solutions that are: innovative (enables users to do things they couldn’t do before), impactful (have, or will have, business impact), and intriguing (have caught Gartner’s interest or curiosity in approximately the past six months).
