Several programs supporting the development and expansion of life sciences innovation in the state of Ohio have been recently announced. The Ohio Third Frontier has released the RFPs for both its Biomedical and Medical Imaging programs. These programs support R&D and commercialization efforts for biomedical products, particularly cardiovascular, regenerative medicine, orthopedics and medical imaging. A bidder’s conference is set for 10 a.m. November 22, 2010 at TechColumbus for both programs. Proposals are due January 18, 2011 with awards announced in July.
Additionally, the Global Cardiovascular Innovation Center (GCIC) has announced key dates for its next round of funding. RFPs were issued November 10 with proposals due by 2 p.m. January 11, 2011. GCIC is focused on the formation, attraction, expansion and retention of cardiovascular companies to create jobs and facilitate economic development in the state.
