Experience

5+ years of experience driving digital strategy and leading digital innovation projects. Demonstrated success leading complex digital projects. Must submit links to online communities you have built and/or manage, plus links to websites and blogs you've launched and/or maintained. Must be highly organized, detail oriented, enthusiastic, resourceful and have the ability to envision innovative solutions in a dynamic environment and be capable of driving consensus and buy-in across a broad array of stakeholders. Display a strong passion
for and knowledge of technology, emerging media, and the internet. Excellent strategic thinking, project management, and executive communication skills are required. Must be capable of meeting commitments, timelines, tasks, deadlines, and budgets. Experience developing digital strategy for place-based marketing, destination marketing, or the hospitality industry a plus.

Description

The Interactive Marketing Strategist for Experience Columbus and the Greater Columbus Sports Commission must be a businessperson first, a tech person second. The ideal candidate will understand the direction and strategy of the organization, and know how to use the web and interactive tactics to meet those needs. The Strategist will be responsible for defining innovative and highly effective interactive marketing strategies to maximize the business benefits of digital investments and efforts. This position is accountable for developing and maintaining technology architectures, processes, innovation, and governance including but not limited to social media, blogs, site and search engine optimization, e-communications, e-surveys, online advertising, and mobile applications. Must interface closely with others in Marketing, Communications, Sales and with director of IT.

Specific Duties

  • Develop a strategic vision around how digital and online assets will support achievement of the organization’s mission
  • Identify key opportunities and/or challenges where online assets can provide a solution
  • Identify the unmet digital, online, and interactive needs and goals of the marketing and sales department
  • Develop and maintain a measurement plan describing key performance indicators used to measure the effectiveness of the digital strategy, the process for collecting and reporting the information, and measuring ROI
  • Responsible for web analytics, providing ongoing analysis of the usage patterns of online assets with the goal of better understanding target audiences’ behavior as well as identifying strengths and weakness of the company's current online offerings (This may include understanding how many people are visiting a website, what are the most popular pages, what are the most popular paths, where are people coming from, where do they drop off, how long do they stay, etc.)
  • Working in conjunction with Marketing and Sales management, develop and implement online media plans
  • Execute organizations’ social media channels and train staff to participate in these media
  • Coordinate with appropriate technical, creative and business stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate project implementations
