Iosil Energy Plans to Begin Operations in Groveport Bringing New Jobs to Region

November 12, 2010

A pilot plant that will produce polysilicon, a raw material for solar cells, is set to go online in Groveport within the next nine to 12 months. The plant will be operated by Iosil Energy, a New Mexico-based company that selected Central Ohio for its new plant for a number of reasons. Of course there were state and local financial incentives that attracted the company to Central Ohio, but Iosil’s owner, Earl Fuller, who says he considered several other locations for his newest plant, says there were many other reasons that made Central Ohio the right choice for Iosil.

“The reality,” Fuller says, “is that we found the enthusiasm and opportunity to be greater in Ohio.”
Among factors influencing Fuller’s decision was the highly qualified talent pool available in Central Ohio. If things go according to plan, Fuller says he expects to create as many as 20 jobs in Groveport – high paying jobs that will require the expertise of chemical process engineers and manufacturing managers which are in ample supply in Central Ohio.

Fuller also cites support from organizations such as the Edison Welding Institute, Ohio State and TechColumbus, who have made a commitment to renewable energy.
