John Bair Returns as CEO of Pinnacle Data Systems as Company Implements New Plan for Sustained Profitability

November 13, 2009

Pinnacle Data Systems has announced that John Bair, company founder and CEO from 1996-2006, will return to the position of president and chief executive.  Bair will replace Michael Sayer, CEO since 2006, who will remain on the company’s board and serve as an outside management advisor.

The management shift is part of an overall strategy to return the company to profitability in the coming year (Pinnacle lost $361,000 on $63.6 million in revenue last year).

Pinnacle designs and builds computer systems and provides IT management services.  As part of the new strategy to cut costs and return to profitability, the company will focus on its smaller but more profitable IT management services and cut investment in its larger products division whose sales have dropped more than 40 percent.

““PDSi stands 100% behind all of its current product and service offerings and related customer programs, and we are well-positioned operationally to continue providing the world-class quality and service our customers have come to expect from us.  Structuring PDSi to leverage our core competencies and focus on current product and service offerings will deliver $2 million in annual cost savings, and better position PDSi financially to achieve sustained profitability in 2010,” says Bair.
