Description

The Ohio State University Center for IT Innovations in Healthcare (CITIH) is seeking innovative software developers and architects to join our team in support of our mission. We are seeking candidates across the full spectrum of software development expertise, from fresh college graduates to seasoned lead architects. CITIH engages in research, development, and evaluation activities to create innovative IT informatics platforms for use by the healthcare and biomedical sciences community.

CITIH’s fundamental mission is to seek innovative IT solutions to problems in biomedical science and healthcare delivery through collaboration with practitioners, researchers, external academic medical centers, and industry partners. Team members obtain data access and analysis requirements from biomedical researchers, investigate and develop novel information systems to address these requirements, and architect, design, develop, and release open source components and platforms to the biomedical research community. We also participate extensively in disseminating CITIH’s novel platforms at biomedical informatics conferences around the world.

Our software development environment is currently primarily Java. Much of the software we produce is open source. We practice agile development methodologies. Knowledge of distributed systems (esp. SOA), a strong foundation in CS concepts (data structures, synchronization, networking, UML and design patterns), and software development experience, including software engineering best practices, Java development is strongly preferred. We are also seeking developers who have strong experience creating intuitive, user-friendly web interfaces that connect to a middle tier. Additionally, we are seeking software developers that have a strong background in security in federated environments, including X.509 certificates, PKI, and SAML. For all positions, familiarity with semantics in software systems is a plus.
Please send your resume to citih.careers@osumc.edu and indicate your desired software development role as one of the following: junior software developer, software developer, senior software developer, technical architect, developer with UI expertise, or developer with security expertise.
