Mark Kvamme, interim CEO of JobsOhio, told the Metropolitan Club audience Wednesday that he is suggesting once the board of the jobs creation public-private partnership is in place, that they begin a nationwide search for a permanent CEO. He says that, while he would be interested in the position, the board owes it to the citizens of the state to find the best and the brightest candidate for the job and he says he may not be that guy.
“I’m an early stage guy – a tech guy,” Kvamme said, “so I may not be the right guy.”
Meanwhile, Kvamme does say that JobsOhio will concentrate its economic development efforts on six of the state’s areas of strength. They are energy, medical, manufacturing and engineering, consumer and agricultural products, banking and insurance, and aerospace and advanced materials.
“When you look at each of (these) key areas,” Kvamme said, “you see we can build on those... There is so much opportunity out there.”
