Local Tech Companies Mark Major Milestones

Among this week’s technology business news, three local tech companies announced significant milestones in their continued growth and contributions to the regional economy.

New Albany’s Bluemile, Inc and Cleveland-based data center BlueBridge Networks announced a multimillion dollar joint venture that will allow state-of-the-art secure cloud computing, robust telecommunications and disaster recovery services for businesses.  Bluemile says it hired nearly 50 employees this year, thanks in large part to this partnership.  For more on this story see:

Also this week, Columbus-based Webbed Marketing was acquired by Fathom Online Marketing.  Fathom, located in Valley View, Ohio, is one of the nation’s largest SEO and online marketing firms, specializing in organic search-engine optimization, opt-in email marketing, online public relations, Internet video products and pay-per-click advertising.  Scot Lowry, CEO of Fathom Online Marketing said the acquisition allows Fathom to expand its social media offerings and cited Webbed Marketing’s expertise in healthcare, government and information technology as key reasons for the acquisition.  Read more about this story on the TechLounge:
