Description

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Plan, administer and coordinate the membership sales function to recruit Association members in an assigned market, retain new members and increase member awareness and utilization of Association programs and services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform sales duties by contacting in person, by telephone, e-mail or mail, the appropriate management representative to explain and detail the full advantages of membership, services and programs. Achieve set membership goals. Utilize established marketing strategies and conduct activities necessary to increase Association membership, to include telemarketing, sales calls and appointments, and targeted or mass mailings, etc.

Ensure that membership application, enrollment fee, and mailing list contacts are properly prepared for ease of internal processing. Deliver new member materials and perform welcome and Association orientation. Document member and prospective member contacts and activities properly and timely to ensure completeness of APEX database.

Establish and maintain data base files on prospective employers and key management contacts. Prepare correspondence and personalized letters to market the Association and its services. Utilize published directories, mailing lists, cold calls, member referrals and other means to establish prospect lists by business classification.

Maintain on-going personal contact with new members to foster understanding of programs and services and to ensure membership retention. Promote and market training programs and other professional services to membership. Work closely with other professional staff to facilitate continuity of service to members.

May attend training sessions, Issues Forums and Executive Briefings to stay abreast of all changes to products or services. Responsible for complete familiarization with all services, programs and strategies of the Association. Stay abreast of sales/marketing and business trends impacting our members

Represent the Association in the business community to promote goodwill and enhance the Association's image. Research, prepare and make presentations to individuals, employer groups, roundtables, etc., as requested.

Monitor technical knowledge and self improvement to keep informed of new developments in marketing and sales techniques. Maintain memberships and participate in appropriate professional groups as required.

Operate personal computer and related word processing equipment and software to prepare quality correspondence, forms, letters, etc., and maintain files necessary to carry out the functions of the position.

Assist President/CEO and Director Membership Development and Marketing as required.
